Casting a shadow | 13 January 2007
It's a new year with new opportunities for ABBA Plaza. So I'd like to take this moment to tell you what's in the development stages for the site. First I work on a new lay out (yet again). Instead of two colours I want to go back to one single colour in different variations. I work out a couple of ideas to see if it will work. Also the logo needs a redesign because I feel that it should be ABBA, not abba. So in capitals. And finally the motto of the site "a fun abba site" will probably be changed. And now something about the contents of the site, which is far more important of course. That's something I work very hard on at the moment. I want new screen savers and a new way of handling e-cards. But these are not the most important new developments. First I am building an interactive section for the site about the 8 studio albums that ABBA made. There will be information about the many variations of the albums that have been released, but the most interesting thing will be the possibility for site visitors to add information to that part of the site. Secondly I fell deeply in love with Google maps. This piece of software gives me many new ways of looking at ABBA. One way is looking at their most important concert tours, using maps. Another way is taking a look at the places that ABBA used in their creative process. Third and most revolutionary involves Google maps as well. It will be a meeting place for ABBA fans around the globe. That's all I want to say about it right now. I have high hopes that these new parts will see the light of day in the next few months. And maybe even one of those will be "live" before the end of January. |
